In 1989 Artura was released by Mastertronics and is now abandonware.

Play it right here in your browser!

In case game is not responding like it should, go full screen. (only works after game has started)
Unfortunately you cannot save the games (yet).

This is all experimental, but most DOS games should run. For the best experience, download the game and play it in DOSbox.

If needed, you can slow down (Ctrl-F11) or increase speed (Ctrl-F12).

My last comment should have said December 1988, not ’98. \";\)\"

Text based on The One magazine, December 1998 (Atari ST version reviewed).

"The game is set in Britain’s ancient mythic past of kings, magicians and great battles.

You are Artura, and must find and release Merdyn the Mage from evil Morgause’s castle, so he can help you unite the warring people of Albion.

To accomplish this, you must find the fragments of 9 rune stones, scattered about the castle.

Avoid or kill soldiers, rats, spiders and other enemies, all of whom will deplete your energy if you come in contact with them.

The sections of Rune will assemble in 9 slots at the bottom of the screen when found.

Apparently the game instructions are rather poor, and do not explain ’Rune Mode’. When you complete a Rune, you can enter Rune Mode, select it with a moving hand, and set it spinning with a few taps of the fire button. This causes and effect like ’hyperspace’, and sends you to a different part of the castle."

For the full review, search for ’Amiga Magazine Rack’, and find issue 3 of ’The One’.
