In 1996 Fire Fight was released by Electronic Arts and is now abandonware.
Description
Mission based action shooter. You start on a platform with your little ship with a bit of ammo. During the game you can pick up goodies to increase fire power. Them consist of around 18 missions. Ammo is brought to the next level.
You have mainly shoot at buildings, approaching enemy fighters and turrets. Next to that you have to pick up stuff to rescue or bring into safety.
The game runs quite smooth.
I've played it straight in VMware Windows XP 32 bit version. Mount the ISO file using magicISO and run the game. No install needed.

This is a Windows game. Sometimes it should be run on an older Windows version or at least a 32-bit Windows. You could use VMware player (free) and install an older Windows on a virtual machine. e.g. I have installed my old Windows XP 32bit on VMware. More info on that you can find over here.
