Description

Seal team is a game in which you can play mission in e.g. Vietnam. You play the head of a small group of seals and has to execute some missions. The game is quite nice, since you can call for air strikes, do some strategic things and run around in a first person view.

Some missions can be completed with minimal use of force or less. Ideally, you get in and out with no hot mess to get stuck in.

Feels good when your charges go off and send charlie in a complete panic whilst your'e popping smoke at the extraction site and can actually see your transport en route to your location.

Planning, patience... and a trusty M-79 go a LONG way toward a perfect finish.

I cannot stress enough - Planning and patience are what get you through without losing people and completing all objectives. Going in gung-ho w/ an M60 and tons of rounds sawing man, flora, and fauna in half draws unwanted attention and puts you and the team in serious danger.

The enemy loves to work together, pin you down, and move in CLOSE. Thus, Rendering air support useless whilst Charlie is jamming grenades down your throat.

Air support can encounter problems/delays/etc. Your H1's and Cobras might have engine trouble and be forced to turn back before hand. Poor weather and close quarters fire fights can make things unimaginably horrible. Friendly fire DOES happen from time to time.

If you or a member of the team are incapacitated, you [SHOULD] can get the fallen back to the extraction point.

This game also allows taking POW's which helps in later missions, if im not mistaken.

Weapons load-out before each mission is wonderful. Large selection of American and even some Soviet weapons. Using the same kit each mission makes your char more proficient over time.

You can use foliage for concealment which is amazing given the time this was released. Night missions require more stealth and less Terminator-style antics. Planning/Patience goes a long way.

Air support helps, but don't paint yourself into a corner and expect it to solve your problems.

A game that new games can learn a lot from. The game itself relies on experiences of a navy seal who served in vietnam and wrote the book Pointman. I have played through it several times and this is what I've learned and enjoyed.

The mission briefings are very detailed and in order to succeed you MUST pay attention. Weapons load out and reviewing any air or river borne support is critical as well.
