Hi, I played this game when i was 7 (it’s demo came free in Computer Shopper magazine back in 1996) I just dragged the .exe over DOSbox and it worked.

As for the weapons, there are plenty of weapons, you have to complete the first level, at the end of the level, it counts the number of things you destroyed as money, and you can use the money to buy new weapons for the next level. After the first level (Cool and Easy), there is a second level called Desert Death, i had saved $73,490 so i bought an upgrade on the front fire for $20,000, and some side fire for $33,000 and 2 extra lives for $10,000 each. This answers the lack of power ups problems, and i suppose the points one, as destroying more things gets more money, more weapons (and you will need them!)

There is even a weapon called Beer! It fires pints at the enemies

you need to change the permissions to exclude read only. then run setup. exe in dosbox. change your sound driver to soundblaster pro or no sound from what it was originaly set to (Gravis) then save and exit setup. it should save your changes if you unchecked read only from all the game files. next run "ravage. exe" making sure you changed your directory in dosbox to the folder the game files are in. you may need to uncheck read only each time before you play. use commands /et or /j to correct screen flicker or disable joystick use

Someone didn’t manage to play past the first boss... There’s a shop where you can spend your points to upgrade your craft.
in dosbox the sound works fine, just run the setup programme first.

interestingly the source code appears to be included in the archive, no clue as to the license though.

not bad... but it can’t really compare to raptor, I think there’s only one weapon and it can’t even be upgraded like in idirion
