Please feel free to download this abandonware title Darklands from 1992.

Description

A great RPG set in Germany in medieval times.
Goal of the game is getting some fame in the country.
When you start the game you can set yourself a nice party or just press the quickstart button. The game begins. You talking to each other in an inn, so you learn a bit as player about the game. Once you get outside you have lots of options. When in a city you 'walk' and 'talk' in the city by clicking on a list of possibilities, with have very nice graphics.
The battles are realtime, but you can pause it to give new orders etc.
Once outside the city you can walk the map of germany, seeking for more quests. But I suggest you start in the city, beating up thieves in the night \":D\"

God in Heaven I loved this game when it came out. It took FOREVER to get to work and there were the patching and slowdown issues, but no RPG to date has even come close to this game. \"^O^\"

A team is being formed to do a tribute to this game by making a total conversion using the Oblivion Construction Set! Just google "The Dark Lands"

One of the best rpg games ever made. No crpg game since Darklands has come close since then to the depth of the historical fantasy genre of Darklands

Just a quick thank you. This is one of my classics (this, x-com, pool of radiance, maybe and EOB). Thank you.

I have had this on every hard drive on every PC I have owned for 15 years - copying saves to floppy. then copying saves to CD then to DVD as the technology changed. Had an early XP period here i couldn’t play it, but then DOSbox came along! THE greatest RPG of all time!
