Tempest 2000 from the Spaceshooter genre was created by Atari Interactive in 1995 and is free for you to download.
Description
A blast from the past. Though the year is quite 'late' for this site, the game itself is quite good for the site. The goal is to gain points in space while shooting 'spiders' of 3D shapes. Your ships 'hangs' on the site of a web in space, where spider will crawl over. By moving to the left and the right you can fly on the brim. Watch out, because those spiders will shoot also along it's path. Gain bonusses, weapons, etc. The game can also be played by two players on one keyboard. The music is quite good, but that's my opinion.

You have got to see Typhoon 2001 - It’s an even better clone of Tempest. Look it up on the internet.. hah hah! The last released version before the author died was 3991. You can search on the net and find some versions. But the latest one was indeed 3991. digiex net has it! | |

This is one of Jeff "The Llama" Minter’s high-profile games written for the Atari Jaguar and later ported to the PC. |
