To get the sound enabled you have to manually edit the 
synd.bat file:

main.exe >nul: /iirq7  /idma1 /iio$220 /c0

if you don't know your IRQ DMA and IO settings.
Start DOSBox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net)
that will give you your soundcard settings.

(You should probably play the game in DOSBox too..)

One more thing:
Sometimes the game will crash (it mostly happens when too many bombs will go of on screen (just click some where else on the map to be sure you don't see explosions)
I've heard that that has to do something with dos4gw.exe so I've downloaded a newer version (the old version is dos4gw_.exe) so you can put it back if you want to.


one other thing ;)  :
If saving games wont work, play the game on C:  (c:\synd\data etc.)
